The right types of undercoat when using gloss paint on doors and shed's ?

If I was using a red gloss pain, what colour of undercoat should I use?

If I was using a brown gloss, for example conker colour, what colour of undercoat should I use?

Thanks! The right types of undercoat when using gloss paint on doors and shed's ?
The above answer are all wrong. coloured glosses have their own colour of undercoat specified by the manufacturer and it will say on the can normally. Red glosses can have yellow or grey undercoats, conkers I think, from memory, is yellow. But the manufacturer provides the info. The right types of undercoat when using gloss paint on doors and shed's ?
If you are using an oil-based paint get an oil-based primer tinted to your paint color. It will be lighter but it will help with coverage.

I would use an oil-based paint for outside.
Red for red etc. but white will work. Trouble is dark colors may take 4 or more coats. This is when colored primer helps.
white
