Why has the gloss paint went yellow on my skirt boards ?

i painted the skirt boards with a pure white gloss 2 months ago and painted the walls with white emulsion .ive just noticed the gloss is a yellow colour but the walls are still white. i dont smoke or allow any smoking in my home. the gloss i used was from a leading manufacture.

whats up with that. Why has the gloss paint went yellow on my skirt boards ?
That is very unusual. Modern paints don't yellow like they used to. Was it an old tin from the garage that caught a frost? Why has the gloss paint went yellow on my skirt boards ?
If you have centeral heating then that can make the pain turn Yellowish in colour, try only using the hearting when nessasary. Also did you use undercoat before the gloss? That normally helps too. Hope i helped!
Generally speaking oil base paint turns yellow over time. If you did not use oil paint then it is the tannin acid of the wood turning the paint yellow
That usually happens if you didn't first prime and undercoat the wood.

Its the oil in the gloss paint making it turn 'yellow'. Try using a water based gloss and you will find it keeps its 'whiteness'
