White gloss goes yellow quicker if it doesn't get any sunlight. [as you will see if you leave an object on a white windowsill] but you can get some good paint that does not yellow as quickly.


Dulux non-yellowing white gloss paint is really good, and will stay white for years even if it is in an area that gets no sunlight at all.

It is decades since I have come across any real problems of yellowing gloss. Modern gloss, reasonable quality stuff, doesn't have that problem in my experience. I live in a house we painted 10 yrs ago and it has not yellowed. Decades ago gloss painted radiators would often yellow due to the heat, but I haven't seen that for years now either.





Brilliant white may lose its 'brilliance' within a few years and be closer to normal white, but I still don't see it being yellow.





Anyone can expect modern gloss to last the minimum of 5-10 yrs before it needs repainting anyway and in that time and beyond it will not go yellow. Nicotine from smokers however is another story.
oil based paint will yellow over time in the absence of light. switch to latex and it may never yellow. there are latex paints now that don't require a primer. they cost more but so does primer.
A water based gloss tends to take longer to discolour than a solvent based gloss. Look for a water based gloss - a trade centre or large DIY store will have it.
Most gloss paints are made from the base of either varnish or oil. The tint is then added for colour. What you are getting is the tint fading and the base coming through
