I have left over semi-gloss paint thought maybe i could use it but for my project I really need a flatter paintAny way to make semi-gloss paint(in the can) less glossy?
Not really, but if you like the color and just want less gloss, you can de-gloss it after painting it on the wall. You can use Goof-Off Prepaint Deglosser right over it and it will take the shine off. It is a spray on applicator and designed to be used on existing glossy paint, but it will work for your application. You really can't make it less glossy and retain the smooth texture. If that doesn't matter to you, then try gently sanding it with fine grit sand paper.
