Hi all. Can someone please tell us the fastest but safest way to get gloss out of our dogs coat? He's a big lump of Bull Mastif so is quite short/smooth coated. He lay against the skirting board last night and it's all down his back, hips and bum.
I've tried bathing him with his usual shampoo and used baby wipes but neither if those have worked.

Call a veterinarian's office and ask. Some solutions are absorbed through the skin. Don't take any chances. Call first thing in the morning.
Sometimes, using something like mayonnaise or vegetable oil will absorb into the hair and loosen the paint while not being harmful to the animal if he licks it. You could give that a try.
Does the paint have lead in it? Don't let him lick it, if it does. this would be a serious complication. It would screw up his mind. Make him irritable. Unable to focus. He'd have to go through chelation therapy to remove the lead from his system.
Good luck.

You can't get it off with anything but a paint thinner. Which I wouldn't advise because it could damage his skin, or irritate it. So if it isn't bothering him, just let it ware off on its own.
Paint Thinner / Mineral Spirits / Soak in rubbing alcohol.
Is he chewing it? If not, let it wear off.
